Photo-Albums-Widget

The Cureo Albums Widget allows presenting images as photo albums on your website.  Update instantly simply by loading new images into Cureo, including directly from your phone.

Advantages:
  • Photos of Events Keep People Engaged.
  • Create New Photo Albums, and upload images directly from your phone.
  • Delegate to Staff & Volunteers -- add and update without granting them web access.
  • Control your pictures -- no need to load to yet an additional 3rd party site.

Prerequisites:

  1. Getting Your Organization ID and Channel ID
  2. Difference Between Public & Private Data

Success Hint: The photo albums widget works best with channels that are devoted to storing images.  Cureo automatically makes albums out of Folders and displays the images inside the folders.

Steps to Deploy:

  1. Create / Identify the channel you want to use for the photo album widget.  In the Edit Channel form, set the default for new contents to "Public".  (This will automatically make any new images you upload public).
  2. Add Folders and Images to the channel.  (at least one to start).
  3. Get the OID and CID for the channel.  The Photo Album Widget requires you to have both and OID & CID.  You can not use empty string ("") for either.
  4. Prepare the code by replacing the OID & CID to match yours.

  5. Deploy your code to your website, test and publish.

Helpful Hints

  • Setting images to non-public will remove them from the public views of albums
  • Cureo attempts to display all image file types.  Non-Image files are ignored.
  • If images are not loading, check that they have been set to public.

Various Deployment Ideas

  • As a link on your main site for Albums.  Use a channel devoted to Albums and Images you want to share with the world.  Since uploads to these folders appear real-time on the website, you can keep your site fresh with each event you have.
  • You may want to feature images specific to a part of your website -- examples could include "summer camp," "golf outing," "our facilities."  -- This can easily be accomplished by putting them in their own channel, and setting the widgets CID to that channel.
  • On your intranet, possibly you have a page that allows for staff members to order appeal and other company offerings.  By storing the images in Cureo, you can quickly change them out as your offerings change - simply add new photos and mark old ones non-public.
