Events Widget

The Cureo Events Widget allows you to easily present public events your website in various formats.  Update instantly simply by creating a public event in Cureo.

Advantages:
  • Create a public calendar of events
  • Save time with one-step saving -- invite your audience via email, and to your website simultaneously
  • Delegate to Staff & Volunteers: provide web updates without granting them web access
  • Publish to topic areas on your website (channels) or make all public events available in a single view
  • 1-click functionality to add directly to the end-users personal calendar

Prerequisites:

  1. Getting Your Organization ID and Channel ID
  2. Difference Between Public & Private Data

Success Hint: Regularly publishing events to your website drives more traffic to your brand and builds your credibility.   The further out events are published, the more likely individuals can attend.

Note: The event widget can be displayed in either card or list view  (see examples below).

Steps to Deploy:

  1. Create / Identify the channel you want to use for the event widget.
  2. Add public events to the channel.  Need at least public one event to start.
  3. Get the OID and CID for the channel.
The Event Widget requires you to have OID.  If you leave CID as an empty string ("") all public events for your organization will be returned to the widget.  Put a CID in to limit the public events displayed to just the channel. Prepare the code by replacing the OID & CID to match yours.
  4. Download sample file:
As Listing:  text example | html example
As Cards:  text example | html example
  5. Deploy your code to your website, test and publish.

Helpful Hints

  • Setting Events to non-public will remove them from the public views of calendars.
  • Only future events are displayed.  The calendar automatically cleans itself up.  (All events are preserved inside Cureo)

    Various Deployment Ideas
  • As a link on your main site for your organization public events.  Setup the widget without a CID value, and all public events for your organization will automatically display.
  • For public notice of meetings -- setup a commission channel, put a link on your website, and set the CID just to that channel.  This will only display events specific to that channel.
