Reply versus Reply-All Dialogs

Cureo's Dialogs allow you the option of creating the message as a Reply to All or Reply to Sender (BCC) message. The Reply-All feature is enabled by default and all replies go to all participants, allowing for on-the-record group discussions. The BCC feature allows you to disable group discussions in cases where it is not desirable or necessary.

Practical uses for Reply-All Dialogs:

  • Group discussions
  • Group decision-making
  • Affinity groups or Communities of Practice (questions, best practice sharing)

Practical uses for BCC Dialogs:

  • Voting
  • Gathering feedback on ideas, files, etc.
  • Quick updates or announcements

When creating a new Dialog, you'll notice 2 checkboxes:

1. Email Entire Channel - This allows you to send a message to all members of the channel without having to type in each person's name. If this box is not checked, the system requires the To box be populated with your desired participant names or email addresses.

2. BCC all recipients - Checking this box will generate the equivalent of a BCC email. All recipients will receive the same message, but if they reply from their email inbox, the Welcome Widget or the full application those replies only come to the initiator of the Dialog. This box is UNCHECKED as the default.

NOTE: Any Dialog that includes more than 50 participants will require the BCC box be checked. This ensures a better experience for all members.

For members that are interacting directly from their email inbox, the Reply-All emails will clearly show that replies go to all participants.

In the application, BCC Dialogs are clearly marked.

When replies are received against a BCC Dialog, you'll see a count of all replies, and how many of those replies are unread.

When you open a BCC Dialog, all replies will show up as Individual Responses. To reply to one of your individual messages, simply click the subject line of the reply to open it.
