Check In/Check Out
The Check In/Check Out feature is a really useful tool for file collaboration. Today you may be emailing files back and forth, having to merge changes made by multiple people into a "final" version of the document. Even worse, it's not always clear what changes were made and who made them. Users with the role of Collaborator or Administrator may use the “check-in/check-out” feature to solve this problem (check out this article to learn about associated permissions for each role). By using the check out feature, other users can easily tell that the file is currently being edited and by whom, reducing confusion and frustration.
To get started click on the file you wish to check out.
Click on the file name or the download icon to download the most current version of the file if you do not already have it.
Replace/Rename
Have a newer version of a file that you need to make available or was your final version not really final? Using the Edit feature, you can ensure that your team always has the most up to date version without an endless and confusing string of emails.
To update a file, simply click on the file to open it.
Click Replace/Rename.
Select and upload the new version, then click Save.
